How MimicBox works as a team game
One person creates a room and shares the code in Slack or Teams. Everyone joins from their browser, phone or laptop, no download needed. The host picks a sound pack and a number of rounds, then hits Start.
Each round, a meme sound plays. Everyone records their best imitation at the same time, one take, no do-overs. The takes get played back one by one, each with a similarity score from 0 to 100. Then everyone votes for their favorite impression, and you move on. A five round game takes under ten minutes.
Pick a pack for the crowd
- Meme sounds: the safest bet. "Emotional Damage", the Vine boom, the Wilhelm scream. Everyone has heard them, nobody can reproduce them.
- Video game sounds: the Mario coin, the Minecraft villager, the Among Us emergency meeting. Works well if most of the team plays games.
- Movie quotes: "This is Sparta", "I am your father", "Bazinga". The pack where voice acting matters and the votes get competitive.
Use it for onboarding
The first week of a new hire is full of names and faces that blur together. A ten minute voice game in the middle of an intro call gives the new person a memory attached to each voice: the colleague who nailed "It Is Wednesday My Dudes", the manager who sounded nothing like Darth Vader.
