How to host a mimic party

1. Pick the format

At home, one phone per player and a speaker for the original sound works great. Online, keep a voice call open and everyone plays in their browser. In both cases, one player creates the room and shares the 5 letter code. No account, no download.

2. Choose the pack and the rounds

Start with the meme sounds pack, it is the most recognizable. Switch to video game sounds for a gamer crowd or movie quotes for drama lovers. For a first game, 5 rounds is the sweet spot: long enough to have a winner, short enough to play again with another pack.

3. Check the microphones

Ask everyone to press "Test my mic" in the lobby. On iPhone, the silent switch must be off to hear the sounds. On a call, headphones keep your friends' voices out of your recording, which matters for the automatic score.

4. Explain the rules in 30 seconds

Listen to the sound, then everyone records at the same time: hit the sound at the right moment in the recording window, one take only. The takes are played back one by one with their similarity score (0 to 100 points), then everyone votes for the best impression, no voting for yourself, 100 points per vote. 5. Keep it fun

• Replay the best takes between rounds, the game lets you listen again before voting.
• No need to manage turns: everyone records together and the game plays the takes back by itself, so nobody waits.
• Play a second game with a different pack and let the loser of the first one pick.
• Record the funniest reactions (with permission) and share the room code with friends who join late.
